Our engineers have been busy. In this release we are introducing new digital signage components including enhanced Facebook, Twitter, Digg, Instagram, Google Calendar and much more. Best of all, Enterprise users can start using these new components right away while free users can now play with enterprise components even without upgrading. Checkout the list and let us know how can we improve our solution:

  • Digg – We are big fans of Digg. It’s everything that’s hot and cool and happening today and it’s all mashed into a single feed. And now you can keep your audience glued to your screens with the current HOT news; the Digg component will do just that. Video tutorial
  • Instagram– Load real time data from your Instagram account including images, videos and posts. Display the entire feed from your account on your digital signage screens (including friends) or, just load specific media resources that you uploaded. Video tutorial
  • Google Calendar – Want to update your displays with live data from Google Calendar? well this is the component for you. Select only from the Calendar you want and set a specific date range relative to today, allowing content to always stay relevant. Video tutorial
  • Google Drive – Located somewhere around the world and feel that you want to host your files closer to your location? No problem, Google drive to the rescue. Simply host your files within a Google drive folder and load videos and images directly from Google Drive (another way to keep stuff private too). Load multiple files into a single folder and cycle through or have someone else maintain access to specific resources within your presentation. Video tutorial
  • Google Picasa– Picasa is awesome, you get unlimited storage on Google’s cloud and you can link directly from your own Picasa account and directly into your digital signage screens. You can even upload images directly from Picasa Desktop which makes it real easy to manage a ton of images (and advertisements). Video tutorial
  • Google Plus – Google Plus is a fast growing social network that is very popular among businesses. And now you can load live data anytime someone posts to your G+ account. The setup is real easy and it will keep your screens current with the latest news from your inner circle (literally). Video tutorial
  • YouTube – If it looks good, use it. The enhanced YouTube channel has a ton of great content and we added support for YouTube channels as well as categories. Video tutorial
  • Facebook – Integrate Facebook with your digital signage presentation and receive real time updates on your screens from your favorite social network. You can even connect directly to Facebook albums, Facebook feed, videos and more. Video tutorial
  • World Weather extended – Enterprise users can enjoy 7 days extended weather including highs, lows, humidity, wind conditions and more. We also includes dozens of amazing World weather pre-compiled scenes created by talented designers, so you can make your presentation look great. Pick white, black or color icons. Video tutorial
  • JSON– Move over XML, JSON is here and it’s here to stay. JSON (JavaScript Object Notation) has taken the development world by storm. It’s an easy to use db format that can be used to bind to any field directly into a scene. Use it to load your custom data from .net, PHP, node.js or any other middleware. Connecting to your POS with JSON is a breeze. Video tutorial
  • Twitter– Get social! With the Twitter component you can expose your screens to your favorite @users and keep the data relevant, all the time. Let your viewers engage with the content and allow end users to push custom messages to your screens, without having to learn any new tools. Video tutorial
  • Browser – Google Chrome is the best browser, we don’t think anyone will argue. And each SignagePlayer for Windows ships with a built in version of it called Chromium. This means that you can load external HTML pages and render then in the latest HTML rending and JavaScript engine, all via Chromium. Video tutorial
  • node.js – The Node.js is built into each SignagePlayer for Windows. This means that any developer can take advantage of node.js to create custom SignagePlayer components as well as StudioPro property loaders. Be sure to checkout the open source page to learn more.  Video tutorial
