Android Based Digital Signage for Touchscreen

Multi-touch Android-based digital signage (say that ten times fast). The device, developed by Diginfo.tv is an attempt to take the usability of a smartphone–with its crisp touch display–and scale it to the size of a large-format display.

They are running the screen off a standard Android terminal connected via USB to the touchscreen sensors with a standard HDMI connection to the display. They developed their own device driver hardware piece to allow a large display to work with the capabilities of a small smartphone.

The initial device was 32″, but the company has plans for 23″, 46″ and widescreen versions are planned for the future.
